Apple’s AirTag is a coin-shaped tracker that helps users track down lost items. Just last week, an AirTag has helped one man in Memphis help police retrieve his stolen vehicle. After his Hyundai Santa Fe was broken into earlier this month, Joshua Wylie decided to leave an AirTag in the SUV. According to a police report, a criminal had tried to steal the car and failed. They not only broke the passenger window but also damaged the steering column....

The trailer for James Gray’s Ad Astra has arrived online. Directed by Gray from a script he cowrote with Ethan Gross (Fringe), the film follows an astronaut (Brad Pitt) who travels to the outer edges of the solar system to find his missing father (Tommy Lee Jones). The movie was shot back in mid-late 2017 and was initially scheduled to arrive near the start of this year. However, it was later pushed back to May and then again to September, in the wake of Disney’s purchase of Fox’s movie and TV assets....

One of the biggest features missing from IE9 is a spell-checker. Microsoft might have overlooked this in an effort to promote productivity of their Online Office suite, or they might have just decided it was too much work to include it. Chrome, Firefox, Opera, and Safari all have spellcheckers; whatever the reason, Microsoft dropped the ball here –and Speckie is picking it up! The Speckie extension adds free spell-checking to IE9 that looks just like the checker you’d see in Chrome or Firefox....

Jeff Ward is being given a larger role for season 6 of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and has been promoted to a series regular. The biggest new addition to Marvel’s ABC show for the fifth season was Ward as Deke Shaw. He was introduced during the first half of the season that was set in space and in the future, but he managed to make his way to the present day. Along the way, fan theories were confirmed as he was revealed to be the descendant of Fitz (Iain De Caestecker) and Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge)....

Many critics and film scholars rank Al Pacino as one of the best actors in the history of cinema. With eight Oscar nominations, it is easy to see why. The man was one of the top critically acclaimed actors of the ’70s. He carried that prestige through his career, although some of his later choices left a bit to be desired. Adobe continues to make its collection of apps optimized for Apple Silicon processors. The company announced today that its Audition application for audio production now runs natively on Apple’s M1 processors. Adobe says that Audition on an M1 Mac offers a variety of performance improvements. Adobe explains: There are, however, a few limitations to running Adobe Audition on M1 Macs. The company explains that Audition on M1 does not currently support EUCON control surfaces or CEP extension panels....

Adobe just revealed (via The Verge) pricing information and more details on its new cloud-based offering called Creative Cloud. Announced last October along new touch apps for tablets, Creative Cloud is billed as a service that “radically redefines the content creation process” by offering a central web-based repository to store, share and view content across devices. Prices start at $49.99 a month, which buys you a one-year access to 20GB of cloud storage shared across the upcoming Creative Suite 6 apps....

It’s been two years since Adobe shook the photography world with Lightroom CC, a cloud-based take on its Lightroom photo editor. The decision to rebuild the app from the ground up with new workflows, new library management ideas, and — in many areas — fewer features, was a polarizing announcement. To help ease the transition, Adobe has continued to maintain and update Lightroom Classic with new features and fixes. Supporting both apps is a service to customers who rely on existing workflows and local file management, but adds complexity to the Lightroom ecosystem....

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s uncertain future has caused loyal followers to take it upon themselves to campaign for the series’ to be picked up for season 6. Unsurprisingly, ABC has finally gone ahead and canceled Marvel’s Inhumans but remains mum on the fate of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The series was Marvel TV’s first offering as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it has been spearheaded by Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), who made the jump from the studio’s film division to the TV landscape following his character’s untimely demise....

Over the summer a report surfaced that Apple had acquired Omnifone, a music streaming company that provided Samsung’s defunct Milk Music service, but it was quickly debunked. Today a new report claims that Apple later acquired some technology from Omnifone, which went bankrupt in May, and hired some its ex-employees, stopping short of a full acquisition. TechCrunch reports that “there was some technology picked up” by Apple from Omnifone following the streaming music company’s bankruptcy early this year, although there are no specifics....
