After Cupertino building official Albert Salvador visited Apple Park last year, he was concerned about employees running into the glass walls that were placed all around the campus as the cafeteria’s doors were indistinguishable from the glass walls, as we reported last month. After bringing up the issue, a contractor walked right into one of the glass walls, the San Fransisco Chronicle reports. With the $900 million deal, Akamai will acquire all of the outstanding equity of Linode. The deal will close in Q1 of 2022. For the entire fiscal year, the acquisition is expected to add about $100 million in revenue. The acquisition will also raise the company’s non-GAAP EPS by anywhere from $0.05 to $0.06. Dr. Tom Leighton, CEO of Akamai Technologies, said it is “transformational” for the company to have the chance to combine Linode’s developer-friendly cloud computing capabilities with Akamai’s edge platform and security services....

Disney is moving forward with plans for a live-action remake of Aladdin, and they are currently targeting Will Smith to play Genie. The big, blue wish fulfiller was voiced by the late Robin Williams in Disney’s original animated film, and the character is certainly one of Williams’ best-remembered roles. Ever since the passing of Williams and the news breaking that Disney plans on remaking Aladdin, there has been a fair amount of speculation concerning who will replace Williams as Genie....

An AirDrop flaw means that doing nothing more than opening an iOS or macOS sharing pane within Wi-Fi range of a stranger can enable them to see your phone number and email address. You do not have to initiate an AirDrop transfer to be at risk. The security researchers who discovered the vulnerability say that they disclosed it to Apple way back in May 2019, but the company still hasn’t provided a fix to the 1....
