A new Reuters report today shares that SoftBank is willing to hand over control of Sprint to Deutsche Telekom’s T-Mobile to make a merger happen, according to unnamed sources close to the matter. Discussions haven’t begun yet, but are expected to start in April after the FCC auction of airwaves and anti-collusion ban is over. With Verizon and AT&T both fighting to keep customers with new unlimited plans this week and 5G networks on the horizon, a merger could be mutually beneficial for Sprint and T-Mobile....

Seems it’s not a good time for ride companies. Following a whole series of allegations of questionable practices at Uber – some of them relating to abusing customer data – similar claims are being made about ride-sharing company Lyft … The Information reports that the company is investigating allegations that employees accessed ride data for personal reasons. Lyft confirmed that engineers would have access to the data, but a former employee said that safeguards included tracking access requests....

While we recently confirmed that Mercedes-Benz is planning to have an aftermarket CarPlay solution for older vehicles out by the end of the year, some of Apple’s other partners aren’t as confident. The two other companies that have so far announced the feature for new vehicles— Ferrari and Volvo— are both hinting that aftermarket CarPlay solutions are probably not happening anytime soon.
