Reuters reports that the Irish government has today agreed to join Apple in appealing the European Commission ruling that the country must recover €13B ($15B) in underpaid tax. While Apple quickly announced its own appeal, it was not certain that Ireland would do the same. Before No Time to Die was pushed back, Hollywood was already impacted by the coronavirus; premieres were being canceled, foreign releases being pushed back, and productions being shutdown in some cities. Now with the virus spreading in the United States and Europe - markets are that hugely important to a movie’s performance - it makes sense that studios would consider pushing back release dates....

Skype seems to be having a little difficulty at present figuring out whether it wants to be a business service or a consumer one. After recently adding Slack-like notifications, mentions and more, it is now adding Snapchat-style photo filters. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s 100th episode, ‘The Real Deal’, was a celebration of everything the series has achieved over the past five seasons. It faced Coulson and his team with the threat of a so-called “Dimension of Dreams,” one that brought their worst fears to life. Alongside a minor update to the app, Adobe Revel has changed their business model slightly. Before, free accounts were limited to uploading just 50 photos every month. Going forward, free accounts get 2 GB of fixed storage for uploads. This means free users are no longer constrained to an arbitrary monthly limit and instead get more flexibility with a 2 GB bucket to play around with. Although it isn’t a great deal in the wider market (Google gives free users 5 GB of storage for instance), it will no doubt be appreciated by customers in the Adobe ecosystem....

The Agents of SHIELD season 6 finale raised a lot of questions for the show’s seventh, and final, season. ABC chose to air the last two episodes of season 6 back-to-back, as SHIELD faced higher stakes than ever before. If Izel and Sarge succeeded in opening a gateway to their home dimension, this entire plane of reality would fall. Mack may have trusted his team when he surrendered himself back in Agents of SHIELD season 6, episode 10, but he’s swiftly left second-guessing himself....

Although Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s future is still uncertain, the show has just passed its milestone 100th episode. As with many TV shows, S.H.I.E.L.D. took the opportunity to step back in time, to explore its own rich history, and to reintroduce a few familiar faces. It did this with a clever narrative device, with a dimensional tear opening to a Dimension of Dreams - and nightmares. Coulson wound up facing off against some very familiar faces, but thankfully he was able to call in an old friend for help....

Walt Disney Studios’ Aladdin star Will Smith performs his version of “Friend Like Me.” In the live-action remake of Aladdin, Smith stars as Genie, a character that was originally portrayed by Robin Williams in the 1992 animated film of the same name. Directed by Guy Ritchie, Aladdin stars Mena Massoud in the title role. In the main cast, Massoud and Smith are joined by Naomi Scott, a British actress who will portray Princess Jasmine in Aladdin....

Eclectic Hollywood producer Adi Shankar has an interesting portfolio of films to his credit; ranging from well-received drama/thrillers like The Grey and Lone Survivor to critical and/or cult favorites like Killing Them Softly and Dredd. However, he’s also the driving force behind the “Bootleg Universe”: a collection of short films based unofficially on pre-existing licensed properties. Now, the movie maverick says he wants the next “Bootleg” project to be a sequel to the found-footage superhero saga Chronicle....

While the Adventures Of Don Juan’s is a charmingly old-fashioned Hollywood swashbuckler, it’s hellish making-of is more interesting than anything onscreen. While Errol Flynn became a star thanks to portraying the titular character in Captain Blood, he’s best remembered for The Adventures Of Robin Hood. Flynn was perfectly cast and the movie is still considered a classic thanks to its witty script and charming performances. The movie was also Warner Bros’ highest budgeted at the time, but it made a comfortable profit....
