Twitter has made its first ever profit, almost twelve years after the launch of the company. It reported profit of $91M on revenues of $732M in Q4 2017, in contrast to a loss of $167M in the same quarter the previous year … Re/code reports that revenue was also ahead of Wall Street expectations of $686M. There was what seems on the surface to be bad news: the user base didn’t grow at all during the quarter, while analysts had expected it to be up by a million....

Tim Cook, who is currently in Beijing, is headed on to India tomorrow, reports Reuters. Sources say that he is due to meet with Prime Minister Modi, who he last met in September back in the US (above). One item on the agenda is likely to be India’s reported rejection of Apple’s request to sell used iPhones in the country … Apple chief executive Tim Cook will visit India this week and meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the second leg of his Asian tour, two sources familiar with the matter said, as the company seeks to revive sluggish iPhone sales....

The US Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on antitrust is holding a hearing today over competition concerns about Apple and Google. Adobe updated two of its creative iPad apps today with new features and additional Bluetooth stylus support. Both Illustrator Line and Photoshop Sketch were updated to version 2.1 and picked up support for FiftyThree’s Pencil Bluetooth stylus and Wacom’s Intuos Creative Bluetooth stylus when drawing in each app. Both new app versions also added the ability to auto save sketches to Projects and your usual performance improvements. Specific to each app, Photoshop Sketch added new size controls for drawing with the pencil, pen, and market tools while Illustrator Line gained Shape selection improvements through an enhanced user interface....
