Development on Mulan, Dumbo and The Lion King is hotting up, although the furthest ahead would appear to be Guy Ritchie’s Aladdin, which is currently casting ahead of a Summer 2017 shoot....

In today’s iOS 11.3 and tvOS 11.3 updates, Apple has removed AirPlay 2 support from both platforms, hinting that the feature will be delayed until further down the road, possibly coming with a future iOS 12 release. Lack of AirPlay 2 also indicates that HomePod will not be getting multi-room or stereo pairing when iOS 11.3 ships to the public, which some have hoped for. This also means that multi-room will no longer be available on Apple TV as well as the feature was also removed in the tvOS 11....

TikTok is currently under investigation by a bipartisan group of state attorneys general to understand the negative effects the short-form video platform might have on the health of kids and teens. In addition, the AGs are trying to find whether the app violated state consumer protection laws. This group of state attorneys general also investigated Instagram for the same issue. After the Instagram for kids controversy, the head of the company Adam Mosseri had to testify before Congress on how the app affects kids; then, by the end of 2021, Instagram announced its first parental controls following the controversy....

ABC and Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 3 continued to develop the storyline of Inhumans hidden on Earth, as well as delved into the origins of Hydra and their connections to a distant planet. The midseason finale concluded many ongoing story threads, set up certain new plots, and left viewers on a cliffhanger. While Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is on break, ABC is gearing up to premiere the second season of Agent Carter, featuring the original Marvel team at the Strategic Scientific Reserve, including Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) herself....

Local carriers KT and SK Telecom have so far sold about 3.1 million iPhones in the country. The paper quotes an unnamed Samsung senior executive: Another Samsung executive is “quite confident” about “a big breakthrough” provided Samsung wins in Germany, adding that “so will other envisioned efforts against such products as the iPhone 5”....

No matter how cheaper the plan you pick, it is always going to be expensive simply because carriers charging hefty for international mobile data. A local SIM should allow you to avoid such exorbitant charges but every country has its policies on when the SIM cards you purchase will be activated. This can be a massive problem since you could be left out with no SIM card for hours or even days and even if you manage to get one, handling multiple SIM cards can be a problem of the next degree....

Adobe today announced Productions, a new feature set coming soon to Premiere Pro. The tools were previewed at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and are targeted for production teams in search of improved project management. Productions is a collection of capabilities under one name. The tools touch a few key areas: managing larger projects, efficiency, organization, synchronization, collaboration, and security. A new Production panel in Premiere Pro will act as a “command center” with options for managing multi-project workflows....

Adobe VideoBite, an iOS app designed to make video editing as quick and easy as possible, has been updated to allow titles, photos and music to be added, turning it into a fully-fledged editor while retaining its simple user-interface. Heartwarming Apple ads aside, I’ve always been rather skeptical of the real-world practicality of video editing on a phone, but I have to confess that VideoBite does make it a very slick process....

Affinity Photo and Affinity Designer, two of the best creative-minded applications available on the Mac, are receiving major updates today to increase performance and add new features. The apps, which are beloved by creative designers due to their no-compromise feature set and subscription-free pricing model, both receive performance improvements, which include a Metal 2 accelerated view and macOS High Sierra optimization. There’s also a new light UI option for users to select from....

A new report from Bloomberg this week claimed that Apple is planning to announce the transition from Intel processors to ARM chips in the Mac lineup this month at WWDC 2020. While there’s still more than a week before the Apple event, tech analysts are speculating on how Apple will make this transition and what are the potential benefits and downsides. John Gruber (Daring Fireball) points out the fact that Apple may reveal its plans to bring ARM chips to the Mac at this WWDC doesn’t necessarily mean that the company will release any new hardware this year....

Apple Park may be the most dramatic and ambitious campus for the company, but it won’t be its last. Apple is already planning its next one, at an as yet undisclosed location. Bloomberg, working with Moody’s Analytics data, thinks it has come up with a shortlist of likely locations for the campus … Bloomberg notes that while Apple hasn’t yet said where the new building will be – a significantly smaller one with a primary role as a tech support center – it has said where it won’t be....

My Mac barely missed the cut for this groovy new feature in OS X Mountain Lion. Rather than worry about purchasing new hardware, as I’m sure Apple wants, I started a search for a third party alternative. I found a great program called AirParrot (Link Below) that fills the AirPlay Mirroring void....
